A public-interest app that turned image recognition and artificial intelligence into a simple, internationally awarded experience.
In two weeks, complex technology had to become a simple gesture: photograph a politician and understand the public information found.
Created for Reclame AQUI, Corruption Detector used image recognition and artificial intelligence to identify politicians photographed by users and present public information about possible legal issues.
The project won the Mobile Grand Prix at Cannes Lions 2018 and was featured in international advertising publications.
A two-week challenge
I worked on the app experience under a two-week deadline. The priority was to turn complex technology into a direct task: take a photo, identify the politician and understand the result.
The process was collaborative, developed in close partnership with the agency responsible for the project.
Flow and interface
The experience was organized to reduce steps and clarify what users needed to do before, during and after capturing the image.
International recognition
The result brought together public utility, artificial intelligence and simple interaction. My participation was made possible by TUIA, the partner agency behind the opportunity.
